Almost Two

Bentley is less than one month away from turning two-years-old, and I cannot believe that my little baby is turning into such a big boy.  I plan to soak up all the sweetness I can over the next three and a half weeks before I have to surrender to the TWOS!  I'll not get all sentimental just yet...this is a quick post to share a few photos and my "semi-homemade" project I did for Mom's birthday.

We took Bentley to Austin's birthday party last week, which took place at David and Linda's house, where they've built the most amazing playground.  It's a pirate ship, complete with a helm, spiral staircase, plank (for walking on and off), trap doors that lead to the underbelly of the boat, a slide, and a rock wall.  Did I say it was AMAZING!  Bentley had a wonderful time, and I think Austin had a great birthday party!

No, we didn't have to call the fire department to get Bentley's head out of the railing.

Now...on the last post, I mentioned that I was "kind of" making Mom's birthday present.  So, now for the unveil.  I bought a two-step stool (because Mom is too short and can't reach her top cabinets), and I decided to give it a little pizazz!  I decoupaged the stool to give it character, and the colors match the colors in Mom's new place.

Like I said...quick post!  Have a great week!  I'm about to start planning Bentley's birthday party!  WOOHOO!

Little Things...

There's not a lot to blog about right now, but I thought I'd share some cute photos we've taken over the last couple of weeks.  A couple of pretty days, Nana Kay's birthday, and silly boys make for some pretty sweet shots.

Enjoy!

First, Bentley and I decided to play outside on Sunday afternoon almost two weeks ago.  The weather was perfect (in the sunshine).  The shade was still a little chilly.  He still has a crazy infatuation for lawnmowers of all kind, including his $15 lawnmower he got almost a year ago.  So you know, this is a multi-purpose toy...you know, it can go ANYWHERE!  Outside, inside, upstairs, downstairs, Nana's house...ANYWHERE!  Still a favorite!

A favorite pastime...looking for airplanes.  Bentley can hear an airplane and point it out before I even realize what's going on.  Typical boy...anything with a motor, engine, etc. = AMAZING!

Really...can you resist the dimple?
Finding our shadows is another fun pastime.  I got so tickled watching Bentley with his shadow.  First, he waved and said, "Hi, shadow.  Hi, shadow."  Then, he tried to run after his shadow. Hilarious!  For the record...he never caught it.

Bentley and Porsche ran up and down the sidewalk over and over and over.

Before Nana's birthday dinner, Bentley and I had to prepare.  First, we painted Nana a birthday card.  Yes, with real paint.  Yes, with Bentley's hands.  Yes, we made a mess.  Yes, we had a great time!

Then, we baked Nana a lemon pound cake for her birthday.  It was YUMMY!

Daniel and I made chicken fettuccine alfredo, salad, and French bread with pesto for Nana's birthday dinner.  Russ, Cyndel, Coen, and Reese joined us to celebrate.

You'll notice that Bentley and Coen are missing their shirts.  Bentley made a mess eating, and Coen just wanted to take his shirt off like Bentley.

Bentley is trying to "HONK" Reese's nose.  As you can tell, Reese is not very thrilled about that.

Two big boys...oh, how they love each other.
Last weekend, Daniel and I went to The Wine Cellar for a wine tasting.  We've gone a couple of times before, so we decided to go for our date night.  While we were standing around, talking, tasting, and browsing, we found this bottle of wine.  I HAD to have it!

The font even looks similar to the blog title.  I'll save this bottle forever.  Bowling "Bliss"
I am working on Mom's (Nana's birthday gift, now.)  I'll post pictures of it when it's complete.  I'm going all Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade, except not with food.  Hmmmm...maybe that makes sense.

Have a good one!
