Five Months Old...Oh My!!

Can you believe that my Snuggle Bug is already 5 months old???  Part of me can't believe he's been here for five months, and the other part of me feels like he's been here...forever.  Bentley is AMAZING right now!!  He is so much fun, and I can't get enough of him.  We had a wonderful weekend, and it was the perfect way to enjoy and celebrate Bentley's five month birthday.

Saturday was a day of house cleaning (Thank Goodness!), so Daniel and Mom (Nana) helped me clean Saturday morning.  Since we went to the beach last weekend, it had been two whole weeks since I had cleaned really good, so I was about to have come apart over the dirt and dust.  I told Daniel on Friday that if I didn't have a clean house by Saturday he may as well take me to the Loony Bin.  Ha! Ha! :)  It worked out perfectly, though.  As soon as Mom got here to help, Bentley went down for a nap, so Daniel could help, too.  We got almost everything done before Bentley woke up.

Then...RTR!!!  It was time for some Alabama Football!   All the grandparents (my parents and Daniel's parents) came over to our house to watch the game and hang out with Bentley.  We had some YUMMY Midas Burger chicken and sauce (I could drink it with a straw).  I got a couple of good pictures with my parents, but we didn't manage to get any with Daniel's.  That's on the agenda for next time.

Kisses from Granddaddy.  Bentley was a stick-tight with Granddaddy during the ballgame.

Cheese!

Two BIG smiles!  CHEEEEEEEESE!  Nana and Bentley are so silly! :)
After the game Nana Reg went shopping, and everyone else went for a walk around the block.  Bentley loves riding in his front carrier (kangaroo pouch), but Daniel thinks we look really silly when we use it.  Too bad we didn't get a picture of us walking around the block...Daniel was laughing pretty hard!

After the walk...off to bed!  This was probably the best night sleep we've had in a LONG time.  Bentley went to sleep at about 8:00, and he didn't make a peep until 3:00 when I got up to feed him.  After 15 minutes of eating, it was back to sleep until 7:00 am.  Woo Hoo!!  That's the most I've slept in a long time, and I loved it!  After waking up at 7:00, it was breakfast time.  A small bottle of milk and a bowl of apples, bananas, and cereal were on the menu for Bentley.  He thoroughly enjoyed it all.

As you can see, Bentley is really good at helping with his bottle now.  He holds on tight to make sure no one takes it away.
Once breakfast was over and we got ready, off to church we went.  Bentley did wonderful in the nursery.  All the sweet ladies love him.  They said he took a 30 minute nap and played the rest of the time.  They bragged about how sweet he is and how he smiles all the time.  While Bentley was making friends in the nursery, Daniel and I heard a fabulous sermon from Brother Jimmy Jackson.  It was based on lessons learned (or what we should have learned) from 9/11.  It pulled at my heartstrings terribly.  I still remember that day so vividly, and my heart aches for all those who lost loved ones in the tragedy.  I truly cannot imagine making the phone call that you know will be the last time you speak to someone you love.  I cannot imagine not ever hearing from the person(s) you love and never getting closure.  I simply cannot imagine what the victims and their families must have gone through.

Moving on...after church we got a quick bite to eat at Zaxby's and a few pictures of Mister Man in his church clothes.  He was so handsome!

Big smiles for Mommy!

"Hey, Mommy!  Do you like my golf outfit?"

Chillin' in the swing.  He's trying to sit up, but he's just not there yet.
We had planned to go to Monte Sano park and walk around, but by the time we got there, Bentley was asleep, and he usually sleeps about two hours at that time of day.  Rather than waking him up, we rode around enjoying the beautiful weather.  When he woke up, it looked a little like rain, so we headed home to swap cars and get coupons for grocery shopping.  While at home, we decided to take a few pictures of Bentley in the front yard.

Trying to sit up by himself.

Ooops...help me...I'm falling...

...and I can't get up!  Mommy to the rescue! :)

Now then...I've got this sitting thing under control.

Oh shucks, Mommy, you're embarrassing me!

Snuggling!

Sweet face...he looks concerned.

Wow...something is super funny!  I bet it's Daddy!

This face cracks me up...he looks mad or mean, but he's squealing in delight.
Finally, we went grocery shopping then came home to cook steak for dinner.  We got just a couple more photos of Bentley.

He likes him Bumbo seat a little more, but he doesn't love it.

He really likes the exersaucer for short periods of time.  I think his legs get tired, and he can't figure out how to turn himself around good.
That's all the pictures we have for now...but here's the latest stats on our Big Boy!

  • Length: 26 1/4 inches
  • Weight: 13.4 pounds
  • Baby food update:  He has eaten sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, prunes, green beans, bananas, apples, pears, and rice cereal.  He likes everything except green beans, which he will eat if I mix them with squash or sweet potatoes.  Bananas and pears are his favorites, and he eats those REALLY good! :)
  • Bentley LOVES his gym right now.  He loves to pull on the guitars and the mirror that hang over his head.
  • He also loves Curious George (his small stuffed animal).  It usually goes everywhere he goes.
  • He can roll over, but he still does not like tummy time, so we practice for little bits at a time.  I'm beginning to think he'll walk before he crawls. :)
  • He is chewing on everything and slobbering like a rabid dog, so I don't think it will be too awful long before we see little toothies coming through.
I think that's about everything.  Sorry for the long post, but I had to share it all!  Have a great week!

More Beach Photos

Well, we got home from the beach safely Monday evening after 10 hours of traveling!!  That's right...10 hours!  Between the normal 6 1/2 hours it should take, we stopped to eat (us and Bentley) twice, got stopped in two accidents, and went through a monsoon all the way from Birmingham to Huntsville.  Boy, were we glad to get home, especially Bentley.  Bless his heart, he travelled really well, but I know he was tired of riding becuase I certainly was.

Even though getting home was a pain, we did enjoy our time away.  It rained pretty much all day Saturday and Sunday, but we did manage to go out to eat, go shopping, and make one quick trip to the pool/beach in between rain showers on Sunday.  We tried to remember the camera everywhere we went, so we have some pretty cute pictures of Mister Man.  Enjoy!!

This was what the weather was like just about all weekend.  Dreary, raining, windy, but still better than being home.

We went to eat at The Boatyard on Saturday night after a little shopping at Peir Park.  This is my favorite place to go.  The ambiance is really nice and the food is delicious!  Bentley liked it a lot too, because we sat outside.  He really enjoyed his sweet potatoes and green beans...yummmmm!
Hey Mommy!  He was flirting with me here.

Cheese!!!

Look really close toward the bottom of this one, and you can see his football socks that match his shirt!  Too cute!

TOUCHDOWN BAMA!!

Thank you Mrs. Nancy for my awesome bib!

Roll Tide Roll!!

Mmmmmmmm...sweet potatoes and green beans...DELICIOUS!
On Sunday, we decided that the weather wouldn't hold us back, so we went to Margaritaville for lunch.  Bentley really liked it there.  There was so much stuff for him to look at, and I think he liked the music, too.

Curious George, you are so silly!

Just chillin'

After a yummy lunch and even more rain, we went back to the condo and waited for a quick break from all the rain to take Bentley out to the pool and beach.  Finally, after a few hours, we were able to do just that.

Mommy and I played in the baby pool...FUN!

Hey Ducky!  Where have you been all my life?

Splish Splash

Handsome little boy!

Funny face.

Ha! Ha! This is soooo much fun!

I think I want to be a fish when I grow up.

This was super fun!  The ocean touched me! :)

Hey...where did the ocean go???

The beach and pool were followed by quick nap for Bentley and then an oh so good dinner at the Saltwater Grill.  Bentley LOVED the enormous fish tank in the restaurant.  This was our last stop of the night, and we went back to get a good night sleep before leaving out Monday morning.

Daddy and Me...I want to grow up to be just like him!

We had a great trip, but it's nice to be home.  We all sleep better in our own beds (especially Bentley), and we had to get back into our normal routine.  We are still catching up on laundry and chores since we were gone over the weekend, but maybe everything will fall into place soon.  Have a great week everyone!!

MRI Results

We got a call from the doctor to let us know that Bentley's MRI was normal!  Yippee!  He just has a funny butt crack...nothing more.  Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.  It was difficult to go through that with him, but it could be worse.

Have a great Labor Day!

We Needed a Vacation...

It's been a rough few weeks at school/work for Mommy, so we decided to take a quick trip south to PCB!  Mommy seriously needed a vacation, and Daddy and I were more than happy to oblige.  Mommy and Daddy decided Thursday at about 11:00 a.m. to take the trip, and we were on the road by 4:45 that evening!  I played in the baby pool yesterday, but we forgot the camera, so hopefully I'll get to swim again to take some pictures.  Nana Kay and Granddaddy Buddy are here too, so we'll get some pictures of them, too. :) Here's all the pictures we have for right now.

On the way down, I went to sleep about 2 minutes from home and slept for 3 hours straight.  We stopped outside of Montgomery for a quick bite to eat and so we could all stretch a little.  After about 45 minutes, we were back on the road.  I went back to sleep about 20 minutes later and slept until we got to Panama City.  Talk about good traveling...I must be a professional.  (Don't tell Mommy and Daddy, but the trip home might not be so easy.)  We got to PCB at about 12:15 a.m., and we decided to go ahead and get groceries, so we didn't get to our condo until about 1:15 a.m.  I was in bed by 1:45 a.m., and Porsche was ready for bed, too.
Hair frazzled, so sleepy..."Mommy, seriously, just get in the bed."

I was sleepy after out late night grocery shopping, so I was happy to see my Pack-n-Play for snoozing time.
After a few hours sleep (for Mommy and Daddy...I slept on the way down), I decided it was time to get up at about 7:00.  We ate, played, went to the pool, and played some more.  Like I said, we forgot the camera on that pool trip, so hopefully we'll get to go back.  The weather is currently a little icky...lots of drizzly rain and cloudy skies, so we don't know if we'll get to swim anymore.

We ate at Angelo's last night, and I was in bed by 9:00.  That's a little late for me, but it is vacation, you know.  After a good night's sleep and lots of playtime this morning, I decided I was exhausted.  A quick nap made all the difference.

I was so tired, and I just laid there talking to my Sleepy Bunny until I finally drifted off.
I woke up super happy and ready to prepare for my first Bama football game.  Mommy came prepared!

I took a quick bath and was decked out in my Alabama towel.

Houndstooth onsie, football socks, and a big Rollllllllllll Tide Rolllllllll!!!

Hey Mommy...can you stop taking pictures now?
So, although we don't have much to post now, we will eventually.  Mommy promises to take more pictures while we're here!

Bye, bye for now!  ROLL TIDE!!
